World Poker Finals - Live Updates

The Final Table has come and gone in the blink of an eye at the World Poker Finals in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Nenad Medic defeated E.G. Harvin in heads-up play to take down the $1.7 million first prize, while Mimi Tran finished third and Kathy Liebert finished fifth. Congratulations Nenad and everyone who made the final table!

Nenad Medic calls from the small blind and E.G. Harvin checks. the flop comes 5 5 3. Harvin checks and Medic bets $150,000. Harvin raises to $500,000 and Medic calls. The turn is the 9 and Harvin bets $1 million immediately. Medic makes the call and the river comes 9. Harvin moves all-in and stands back from the table as Medic deliberates, looking altogether unperturbed. Eventually he makes the call and shows 5 7 to Harvin's A J. After a short pause to count the chips, it is announced that Medic had Harvin covered and has won the World Poker Finals!

Harvin takes home $904,389 for his second place finish, while Medic takes home the big one, a $1,717,194 payday, along with a WPT bracelet and a $25,000 buy-in to the WPT World Championships at Bellagio next spring. Congratulations to both players!

This was an un-raised pot and both players got to see the flop of Ac-Q T. Harvin lead out with a bet of $200,000 and Nenad quickly calls. The 8 on the turn and Harvin bets out again, this time for $300,000. After a bit of thought, Medic calls again. Another ace on the river and Harvin makes a big bet of $600k. Medic eventually makes the call and is unhappy to see E.G. flip up pocket queens for a full house. Harvin takes down a big pot.
