Eight-High No Good for Ed Jordan 3 years ago

Ed Jordan raises to $200,000 from early position and Mads Andersen makes it $625,000 from the cutoff. Daniel Negreanu calls from the button and the blinds fold. Jordan makes the call and the flop comes Qh Qc Th. Everyone checks around and the turn is the 4h. Ed Jordan is immediately all-in and Mads Andersen folds. Negreanu asks for a chip count and is told Jordan has about $1,045,000 left. He tells Jordan he puts him on trip queens but thinks maybe he can suck-out on him, and makes the call.

Jordan shows 8s 7s to Negreanu's Ac Kh, giving Negreanu the much better hand and leaving Jordan drawing for an eight or a seven to stay alive. The river card is the 6h and Negreanu makes the king-high flush to send Ed Jordan to the rail in sixth place. He'll take home $169,145 for his efforts.
