Hansen's Bullets Hold Up
In the final hand of this heads-up match Gus got it started with a raise to $350,000 which Jimmy Fricke called. The flop came Q♦ 8♦ 6♣ and after a check from Jimmy, Hansen threw one million into the middle. Fricke immediately pushed all-in and Gus insta-called. The Dane turned over a monster - pocket aces - and was ahead of Fricke who had pushed with yet another draw.
Jimmy was holding 7♣ 9♣ for an open-ended straight draw and when the 2♣ hit the turn he picked up a flush draw to go with it. Gus had to sweat it on the river but the 9♠ sealed the deal and ended the event. Jimmy Fricke will be our runner-up and take home a cool $1 million and Gus has earned the title, the bracelet and $1.5 million. Congratulations Mr. Hansen!

A Hasty Move from Fricke
This hand began with a raise to $450k from Gus and a call from Fricke. The flop came K♦ J♣ 6♠ and after Gus checked it, Fricke moved all-in. Gus quickly made the call and turned over K-T for top pair. We saw Fricke had been making a move as he turned over Q-9 for an inside straight draw. Fricke was unable to make it there this time and after the board finished 5-6 he was forced to hand the chip lead back over to Gus.
Jimmy Fricke - King of the Suck-Outs
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Jimmy Fricke cannot lose! In what was definitely the call of the tournament Gus Hansen had Jimmy all-in and way behind after the flop. Hansen opened this pot for $425,000 and Fricke called. The flop came out J♦ T♦ T♥ and Fricke checked it to Hansen. Gus threw in $500k and Jimmy quickly announced all-in. He had about $4.3 million total and Gus took some serious time in making his decision. Talking his way through the hand he eventually decided to make the call. Turning over his hand we saw why it was a tough call to make, A♥ K♥ for nothing but ace high.
When we saw Jimmy's call though we saw it was an amazing read. Fricke needed some help with his K♦ Q♣. He was drawing to a nine or some sort of running cards for the win. The turn came the T♠ which gave Fricke a few more outs as he could hit a queen to make a full house. It looked like the tournament was over as there was only one card to come but I guess we forgot for a second that it was Jimmy Fricke who was in the hand. The river was the 9♣ and Jimmy sucks-out yet again to become the chip leader.

Great Dane Takes Chip Lead
With two substantial pots Gus Hansen has taken the chip lead. The first hand began with a raise to $300k from Hansen on the button and a call from Fricke. The flop came J-6-2 with two diamonds and after a check from Jimmy, Gus threw in $400,000 and Fricke check-raised to $1.5 million. Gus wasn't going to be pushed around though and quickly announced all-in. Fricke threw away his hand and conceded the pot.
On the next hand Gus raised pre-flop to $300,000 and got re-raised to $600k by Fricke. Hansen made the call and the flop came 9-7-4 with two clubs. Both players checked and the turn was the 6♥. After a $500k bet from Fricke, Hansen pushed all-in for the second time in as many hands and took down the pot. Gus is now the chip leader.

Hansen Back in It
To answer the question posed in the last update: Gus Hansen has doubled through Jimmy Fricke to pull almost even in this heads-up match. The hand started with a raise to $300k from Gus and a call from Fricke. The flop came 7♥ A♣ K♠ and Fricke check-called a $350,000 bet from Hansen. The turn brought the 8♣ and after Fricke checked again, Gus announced he was all-in. Jimmy went deep into the tank before making his decision.
After several minutes Fricke called and they both flipped them up. Hansen was in great shape with A♠ 2♠ leading Fricke's K♥ Q♥ going to the river. Jimmy was looking for a king or a queen but the river fell the 5♣ and Gus doubles-up. Pulling close to even with $7.36 million to Fricke's $7.6 million, Gus is right back in this match.

After Andy Black's elimination we are down to heads-up play. Jimmy Fricke is in a dominating position with $11,175,000 to Gus' $3.7 million. It's going to be an uphill battle for Hansen to overcome Fricke's monster stack but if anyone can do it it's Gus.
Black-Balled
Andy Black has been elimininated from this event in third place after getting into a dominated all-in confrontation with Jimmy Fricke. Fricke made a pre-flop raise and Black quickly moved all-in. The words were barely out of his mouth before Fricke said call and turned over his cards. Black was in bad shape with K-Q to Fricke's A-Q and needed some help going to the flop. The board came 3♠ 7♦ 7♥ 9♠ T♥ and Andrew Black is outta here. Finishing in 3rd, Andy will take home $700,000.

Chop It!
Andy Black averted disaster after getting all-in with Gus Hansen and ending up with a split pot. A raise from Gus Hansen to $250,000 was followed by an all-in move from Andrew. Gus made the call and before they rolled them over it was clear by his expression that Andy wasn't happy about the call. Behind going to the flop with A♣ 3♥ against Hansen's A♠ 8♦. The flop came 4♠ Q♠ 2♦, giving Black a few more outs and the 4♣ on the river added a ton more for a split. The T♥ on the river is good for the chop and Black stays alive.

It;s hard to believe but Jimmy Fricke is absolutely dominating this final table and having two players like Gus Hansen and Andy Black to contend with makes it all the more impressive. Executing aggressive moves, Fricke is owning this match. Fricke just showed us an example of the kind of play I'm talking about when, after Black raised to $250,000 and Gus made the call, Fricke came over the top and made it $1.5 million, taking down the pot.

Hans Vogl Out in 5th
Hans Vogl has been eliminated after getting all-in with the wrong guy - Jimmy Fricke. You'd think these players would have learned by now that it doesn't matter what Fricke's cards are, he can't lose a hand! After a pre-flop raise from Vogl, Fricke popped it to $1 million, enough to put Hans All-in. Vogl made the call and saw he was slightly ahead with A-9 to Jimmy's K-J. The board came 8-9-5 rainbow and Vogl was still in front. The turn was a queen but the river was a jack, pairing up Jimmy Fricke and eliminating Hans Vogl from this event. The Fricke and Hansen Show
5 years ago
Gus Hansen and Jimmy Fricke have been butting heads at this table and they went heads-up again in this hand. A raise from Gus Hansen to $105,000 started the hand and Fricke, on the button, made the call. The flop came 4♠ 8♥ 3♣ and Gus tosses in $140,000. Fricke makes the call and and the Q♦ hits the turn.Gus fires again, pushing in $330,000. Fricke calls and the river is the A♣. Gus reaches deep this time and comes out with a bet of $770k.
Fricke looks distressed as he exclaims, "I can't believe I got to this decision with this hand". Making the call he turns over A-J. Unbelievably he had been calling every street with ace-high and had spiked an ace on the river. All Hansen could come up with was bottom pair and would be forced to concede the hand. A big pot for Fricke puts him back in the lead.

"I should have at least eighteen percent", comments Gus as he makes the call. When the cards are rolled we see he's in much better shape than that with pocket nines up against Kristy's A♥ Q♥. They run the board and after it comes out J-8-5-2-4. Kristy is eliminated in seventh place and will receive $220,000.

After a raise from Gus Hansen to make it $110,000, Julius Colman announced he was all-in for a total of $725,000. Jimmy Fricke, next in line, makes the call and after Hansen gets out of the way the two players roll them. A♣ Q♠ for Colman is in a race against Fricke's pocket tens.
The flop comes Q♣ 3♣ 8♣ and Colman takes the lead with a pair of queens. Fricke needs a ten that's not a club for the win but the J♠ on the turn gives Jimmy an inside straight draw. The 6♣ hits the turn and improves Colman's hand to a flush. With that hand Colman chips up to about $1.5 million.
