EPT Prague: Konstantinos Busted! (OUT - 4th) 11 months ago

Konstantinos ships it on the button for just over a million.

Bonavena exhales deeply and leans back in his chair, his few remaining strands of hair glistening under the TV lights.

Then he calls!

Konstantinos looks unhappy but he is marginally ahead, tabling pocket threes to Bonavena's Kh Qs.

It's a race!

The flop comes 6d 2d 2h. A great flop for the Greek's little pair!

The turn is the 7c and Konstantinos sits down as if he has won the pot. Bonavena also sits down now!

"Lunacy!" cries the EPT live commentary.

RIVER: Ks!

The Italian gets there on the river in dramatic fashion.

There is more overjoyed cheering from the rail as Konstantinos is busted in fourth spot, winning €199,000.

Bonavena is clear chip leader now ...

EPT Prague: Bonavena Sucks Out! 11 months ago

Action folds to Andrew Chen in the small blind and he puts Salvatore Bonavena all-in in the big blind. Bonavena calls for his tournament life and turns up Ac 5h, only to find himself far behind Chen's Ks Kc.

This has been a crazy final table, however, and as Chen has sucked out to stay alive so too does Bonavena. The flop comes Ad Qs 4h to give Bonavena the lead as Chen slumps in his chair as though he's been hit by an Alfa Romeo.

The board finishes out 8d 5c and two aces takes the pot. Bonavena doubles up to take the chip lead with $2,068,000 while Chen is on $2,014,000.

  • Blinds: $25,000/$50,000

EPT Prague: Konstantinos Krumbling! 11 months ago

Simple hand, but potentially crucial.

Salvatore Bonavena pings his stack into the middle, and Konstantinos calls, not unreasonably with Ad Th, but finds himself in bad shape as the Italian shows down As Qd for a dominating hand.

A board of Ah 6s 5h Js Kc ensures Bonavena's advantage remains, boosting him into second place and making erstwhile chip leader Konstantinos the short stack!

The topsy-turvy game continues!

  • Blinds: $25,000/$50,000
  • Ante: $5,000
  • Average Stack: $1,425,000

EPT Prague: Chen Pwnage! 11 months ago

Following that inspired call, Chen quickly raises to $115,000.

Konstantinos reraises to $425k, anxious to stop the Canadian in his tracks, but Chen immediately shoves all-in!

Konstantinos was clearly just making a steaming reraise and insta-folds, his air-punching antics a thing of the past, looking downcast as he realizes Chen now owns his soul.

That hand makes Chen a massive chip leader, up to $3 million plus now whilst everyone else is down to $1,000,000 or less.

He's looking more and more like our winner all the time ...

  • Blinds: $25,000/$50,000

EPT Prague: Sick Call by Chen 11 months ago

Andrew Chen raises to $115,000 from the button and, as he's done all day, Alexiou Konstantinos defends in his big blind. The flop comes Qh 9h 5s and Konstantinos checks to Chen, who bets $120,000.

Konstantinos makes the call and the turn is the 3s. Both players check. The river is the 7c and Konstantinos bets out $215,000. Chen goes into the tank for a minute or so before announcing a call. He turns up Ac 6c for naught but ace-high, but miraculously it's good as Konstantinos has Th 8h for the busted straight flush draw. Chen takes a substantial pot and crests the $3 million pot for the first time in this tournament.

  • Blinds: $25,000/$50,000
  • Ante: $5,000
  • Average Stack: $1,425,000

EPT Prague: Di Ciccio Doubles Up! 11 months ago

Konstaninos raises to $130,000 and the short-stacked Italian Di Ciccio ships it for his stack, another $240k or so.

Konstantinos makes the call, priced in with 5d 7d, whilst Di Ciccio, who has played the part of table rock, shows up with the most likely hand he was willing to get it in with: pocket aces!

A flop of Qc 4h 3h has a strange effect on Konstaninos.

He picks up a gut-shot draw and starts punching the air in his characteristically insane fashion as if he has already cracked the Italian's aces.

The Italian responds with a thumbs-down motion, disapproving of the Greek's shenanigans.

The turn and river come 8s 9s, however; Konstantinos' gut-shot misses and Di Ciccio doubles through.

The Italian rail now go bananas, high-fiving each other, jumping on each others' shoulders and generally showing their joy in an effusive manner.

Once sedatives have been duly distributed, the game continues.

  • Blinds: $25,000/$50,000

EPT Prague: Cirianni Busted! (OUT - 5th) 11 months ago

Francesco Cirianni shipped it with Ah 8h, but Andrew Chen made a quick call with the dominating Ad Qh.

Would it hold?

On a board of Jc 5s 4d 6d 9c it does, and we lose the player who has been dubbed "a cross between The Incredible Hulk and Elton John."

Following his bust-out, he disappoints supporters by not turning green, ripping his shirt off his ample frame and bursting into a rendition of "I'm Still Standing!"

Instead, he leaves to collect his €166,000 from the cash desk for his fifth-place finish.

The game continues four-handed as we inch closer to crowning the champion here in Prague.

Following that elimination the players have been given a 15-minute break to regroup. We'll be back shortly.
