EPT Prague: Salvatore Bonavena Takes the Title!
Incredibly, it is all over!
The two players get to a flop of 8
3
2
and both players go for it!
Salvatore Bonavena holds 8
7
for top pair, which is currently good versus the gut-shot A
4
for Massimo Di Cicco!
The turn comes the 6
and the river is neither a five nor an ace, meaning Salvatore Bonavena is the champion!
He wins €774,000 for first, along with all the glory and prestige accompanying the title. He can feel especially proud as the first Italian to pick up an EPT trophy!
Massimo Di Cicco has also done very well, finishing up in second place for €445,000.
Well played sir!
So that brings the tournament to a close. We will have winner photos and an interview with the winner shortly, so click back to read these. For now we pass on our congratulations to Salvatore for winning PokerStars.com EPT Prague!

EPT Prague: Massi-Mo Money!
Massimo Di Cicco sees Salvatore limp from the button and checks his option.
The pair go to a T
4
2
board and the action goes ... check, check.
The turn falls the 7
and the fireworks begin.
A $120k bet by Di Cicco is raised to $300k by Salvatore.
Di Cicco now shoves all-in. Insta-call from Salvatore!
Salvatore shows Q-T for top pair but Massimo has flopped gin with T-2, the famous hand that guided Doyle Brunson to two WSOP Main Event titles.
Two pair for Di Cicco remains the best hand come the blank river and he doubles through, meaning the two Italians are now virtually even in chips!

EPT Prague: Unparalleled Scenes!
Incredible scenes here in Prague.
Preceding the heads-up battle, Salvatore and Massimo turn to the huge Italian throng on the rail who are cheering and singing victory chants. They acknowledge the crowd, joining in the celebrations before doing something I don't think we have ever witnessed two EPT heads-up players do before.
They hug.
Some would say it was a moving moment. Others might balk at the man-on-man action.
The partisan crowd, including Dario Minieri, just love it though. The two finalists will begin the heads-up anytime soon.

EPT Prague: Heads-Up for the Title!
So we have the two Italians, Massimo Di Cicco and Salvatore Bonavena, heads-up for the EPT title.
Bonavena has a $4,123,000 to $1,574,000 advantage over his compatriot and is the favorite for the title, but anything can happen.
One thing is for sure. Come the end of the day, we will see our first Italian EPT champion crowned.

EPT Prague: Chen Charred (3rd)
Andrew Chen open-shoves all-in for his last $1,123,000 from the small blind and Salvatore Bonavena takes a few moments to think before announcing a call. Chen turns up K
Q
and will need to improve against Bonavena's A
6
if he wishes to stay alive.
The flop comes 7
5
3
and Bonavena picks up a straight draw. He gets there on the turn, which is the 4
, and Chen needs a six now to chop the pot. The river, however, is the 8
and Bonavena takes the pot, busting Chen in third place for a €257,000 payout, a tidy reward for the young Canadian but in some ways a disappointing finish for the player who was clearly the class of the final table.

EPT Prague: A Period of Calm
The last 15-20 minutes has been characterized by a tired but tense atmosphere. The huge blinds mean pre-flop shipping has been the order of the day and as yet, no hands of note have collided.
Salvatore retains the lead, with Andrew Chen and Massimo Di Cicco trailing with roughly half his stack.
No big swings yet but sooner or later, a volcano will erupt and we see a lava flow of chips pouring into the center of the table, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
It will be like the destruction of Pompeii revisited.
For now though the calm, still waters of this three-handed contest remain unbroken.

EPT Prague: Big Pot for Bonavena
Andrew Chen limps in from the small blind and Salvatore Bonavena checks his option in the big blind. The flop comes K
K
3
and Chen bets out $75,000. Bonavena flat-calls and the turn is the A
. Chen again fires, making it $180,000 to go, and again Bonavena opts to smooth-call.
The river is the 8
and Chen fires a third bullet, this time shipping a cool $500,000 into the middle. Bonavena barely blinks before matching the bet, and Chen taps the table. Bonavena turns up Q
3
for kings-up and takes a monster pot.

EPT Prague: Di Cicco Doubles!
Salvatore Bonavena raises to $270,000 from the button and Massimo Di Cicco moves all-in for $564,000 from the small blind. Andrew Chen gets out of the way and Bonavena, getting ridiculous odds, tanks forever as he mulls his options.
Eventually, he decides he can, in fact, call, and turns up 4
4
to find himself racing against Di Cicco's A
T
.
The flop comes A
J
6
, sending Di Cicco and his cheering section into hysterics and prompting some serious jawing in Italian between Bonavena and Di Cicco. They continue jawing as the board finishes out A
8
, doubling up Di Cicco to $1,206,000 and keeping play three-handed.
