Day 4 Live Updates
Over!
3 years agoThis tournament is over! Sander Lylloff is champion, defeating his friend and roommate Mark Teltscher in a very relaxed heads-up match to take down the first tournament of the PokerStars.com EPT Season 4.
The final hand played out as follows:
Lylloff raised to $120,000 and saw Teltscher re-raise to $260,000. Lylloff re-re-upped all-in and saw Teltscher call instantly, turning over K♥ K♦ to his own J♠ T♥. The EPT2 London champ looked primed for a double-up but the flop was a little worrisome, coming Q♥ J♥ 7♥ and giving Lylloff plenty of outs. One of them was the J♦, which promptly spiked on the turn, giving Lylloff trips and the lead. The river card was the 4♣ and Lylloff dodged the heart-flush to win the EPT4 Barcelona Open.
For the win, Lylloff receives a gigantic novelty check as well as a real check worth €1,170,700. Teltscher narrowly misses becoming the first repeat-winner in EPT history, but as a consolation prize takes home €673,000, about three times what he won in London. Congratulations to both finalists and to the EPT for a successful beginning to Season 4!
Play Resumes
3 years agoHeads-up play has begun from the basement of the Gran Casino Barcelona, with Mark Teltscher ordering Cristal and Sander Lylloff raising in the dark. Good times.
True story: Teltscher and Lylloff are roommates on the road, including here in Barcelona. Could be an interesting heads-up battle.

Lylloff: $3.658 million
Teltscher: $1.765 million

| Sander Lylloff | $2.3 million |
| Greg Dyer | $610,000 |
Another Double for Dyer
3 years agoSander Lylloff raises and sees Greg Dyer come over the top all-in for his last $270,000. Lylloff calls and shows T♥ 4♠ to Dyer's A♥ 2♦. The board comes A♣ K♠ Q♦ A♦ 4♣ to give Dyer trip aces and double him through Lylloff.

3 years agoSick Call for Sander
3 years agoGreg Dyer raises to $72,000 on the button and Sander Lylloff makes the call from the big blind. The flop comes J♦ 9♦ 4♠ and Lylloff checks to Dyer, who attempts to bet $110,000 but misspeaks and, at Mark Teltscher's insistence, is held to making a minimum bet of $24,000. Lylloff makes the call and the turn is the 7♦ and again Lylloff checks. Dyer bets out $140,000 and again Lylloff calls. The river is the 4♣ and for a third time Lylloff checks. Dyer bets out $330,000 and for a third time, Lylloff calls. Dyer shows down 8♠ 6♠ for eight-high and Lylloff takes a huge pot with pocket fives. Wow, as they say.
Chip counts now have Lylloff in the lead with $2.5 million, Teltscher in second with $2.3 million and Dyer down to his last $610,000.
Lylloff Making Moves
3 years agoSander Lylloff has been very active after dinner, raising and re-raising almost every hand, but appearing to be simply getting hit by the deck - he has shown down AJ, 99 and pocket deuces when his opponents have folded.
Mark Teltscher appears to be taking all of the raising personally. On one recent hand he raised from the button only to see Lylloff make it $150,000 to go from the small blind. "This could be your last hand if you're not careful," Teltscher told his opponent. "I tell you once, I tell you twice."
The Cityboy called and the flop came 3-3-2. Lylloff bet out $200,000 and Teltscher immediately re-upped to $500,000, prompting a long tense pause on Lylloff's part before he mucked his hand. "Sixes?" asked Lylloff.
"You were going broke on that hand," replied Teltscher, and that was that.
And We're Back
3 years agoChip Counts
3 years agoHere are the updated chip counts as we near the end of the level:
Sander Lylloff: $2.1 million
Mark Teltscher: $2.1 million
Greg Dyer: $1.1 million
We're now on a dinner break until 10 p.m. CEDT (1 hour).
Nice Pot for Teltscher
3 years agoLylloff Doubles
3 years agoMark Teltscher and Sander Lylloff get into a bidding war that sees all of Lylloff's $904,000 get in pre-flop following a succession of raises and re-raises. Teltscher beats him into the pot and turns up A♦ Q♠ to Lylloff's A♣ K♦. The board comes A♠ T♣ 2♥ 9♠ 4♣ and Sander Lylloff has doubled through Mark Teltscher.
We're now almost even in chips, with Greg Dyer holding a slight lead with $2 million to Lylloff's $1.9 million and Teltscher's $1.6 million.
New Level; New Chip Counts
3 years agoThe blinds are up once again and a round now costs $54,000 to go. Here are the updated chip counts as we start three-handed play:
| Mark Teltscher | $2,529,000 |
| Greg Dyer | $1,982,000 |
| Sander Lylloff | $922,000 |
Paasonen Plaastered
3 years agoGreg Dyer raises to $60,000 and Mika Paasonen moves all-in for $57,000 total. Sander Lylloff calls the $60,000 and he and Dyer will contest the side pot. The flop comes J♠ 7♣ 2♥ and both players check, as they do on the 9♥ turn. The river card is the K♥ and Lylloff checks but Dyer bets the minimum, inducing a fold from Lylloff and scooping the side pot.
Dyer shows K-10 for a pair of kings, while Paasonen has A-7 for a pair of sevens and is eliminated. The Finn will take home €301,000 for his efforts.
Teltscher Doubles Through Paasonen
3 years agoLylloff Doubles
3 years agoSander Lylloff raises to $60,000 from the small blind and Greg Dyer comes over the top all-in from the big blind, putting Lylloff to a decision for his tournament life. The young Danish pro tanks for a few minutes but ultimately makes the call, showing A♥ 9♠. "Good call," says Dyer, turning up K♠ T♥.
The board comes J♠ J♣ 3♦ Q♦ 3♥ and despite the scare on fourth street, Lylloff's ace-high is good and he takes down the pot, doubling his $490,000 all-in and taking a bite out of Greg Dyer's stack.

3 years ago| Greg Dyer | $1,529,000 |
| Mark Teltscher | $1,423,000 |
| Mika Paasonen | $1,049,000 |
| Sander Lylloff | $920,000 |
| Tronde Eidsvig | $439,000 |
Junglen Carl'd
3 years agoAdam Junglen open-shoves all-in for $264,000 from early position and the action folds to Mark Teltscher, who gives the matter some heavy thought. "It's going to be tough for me to lay this one down, Adam," he says, but eventually folds the hand.
To his left, Sander Lylloff tells him, "I'm glad you didn't do anything there. I'm going to have to call." He does indeed call and once everyone else is out of the way shows 8♦ 8♥ to Junglen's A♦ 4♣, while Teltscher says he folded king-jack.
If Teltscher's telling the truth he'll be burning once he sees the flop, which comes K♠ K♦ Q♥, meaning Junglen is drawing to an ace or a queen to stay alive in this event. The turn is the 2♣ and the river the 6♠ and Adam Junglen, 19 and famous for calling down Patrik Antonius with ace-high at the Monte Carlo Grand Final and for winning the PokerStars.com Sunday Million this summer, has been eliminated in sixth place. He'll take home another €196,500 to add to the pile.
Jedlicka Yanked
3 years agoMark Teltscher raises from under the gun and the action folds around to Nikolaus Jedlicka, who moves all-in for $130,000 more. Teltscher analyzes his opponent and tells him, "I guess I have to hope for a race. Seems unlikely, but I guess I'll give it a shot." He calls, and turns up A♥ Q♥ while Jedlicka has pocket tens.
The players are indeed racing, and when the flop comes Q♣ 4♦ 2♥ Teltscher takes the lead. The turn is the A♦, which gives the audience cause to moan in dismay although it really doesn't mean much. The river card is the 2♦ and Teltscher earns the check-mark while Jedlicka has been eliminated. KaiBuxxe earns €154,700 for his efforts.

| Seat 2 | Adam Junglen | $320,000 |

Maceiras Masticated
3 years agoGreg Dyer raises to $60,000 from the cut-off and Juan Maceiras moves all-in for about $275,000 from the button. The action folds back around to Dyer, who calls immediately and turns up A♠ K♠ to the Spaniard's A♦ 6♠. The flop comes Q♦ 7♦ 4♣ and Maceiras is drawing for a six or running cards for the straight. The turn is the 2♠ and there are three outs to save the underdog, but the 3♠ is not one of them and Juan Maceiras has been eliminated in ninth place. He earns €64,800, while the rest of the field is guaranteed TV exposure and at least €104,500.
We'll now take a short break before players reconvene at the TV final table to play down to a champion.
Kowssarie Comes Home
3 years agoAfter Greg Dyer raises, Mohamad Kowssarie comes over the top all-in for about $400,000 and Dyer is willing to call, turning up A-K against Kowssarie's Q-3 (aka the stone-cold nuts). Remarkably, the board comes K-J-9-5-3 and Kowssarie's Q-3 is cracked, sending him to the rail courtesy of Dyer's pair of kings and dealing him a €64,800 payday for his trouble.
We're now down to the final table, but not the final table. We'll play one more elimination before we officially move to the TV final table. Stay tuned.

If This Is It
3 years agoWelcome back to the basement of the Gran Casino Barcelona for what we presume will be the final day of poker at the PokerStars.com EPT4 Barcelona Open. We're still 13 strong heading into the start of play and all intentions are to play down to a winner tonight, so it could be a long day - although it won't go any longer than 4 a.m., because that's when the casino closes for the night, by law.
Action will get underway in just a few minutes and you can bet the organizers are praying for a bunch of quick eliminations, because frankly we haven't had any indication of how the EPT will proceed if they're still three- or four- handed at 2:30 this morning.
Regardless of how it plays out, though, PokerListings.com will be on the scene until the winner is crowned, whether by all-in re-raise or roshambo (pick rock) in the streets of Barcelona. Stay tuned for comprehensive coverage starting now!
