The Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) is hosting a poker conference at Binion's Gambling Hall & Casino in downtown Las Vegas from April 13-14, 2006, it has been announced.
The two-day LIPS Poker Conference is open to both men and women and will offer micro-group size instructional seminars with the attending poker pros, one-on-one question and answer sessions (Q&A), autograph and photo opportunities, poker, and parties.
Poker personalities slated to attend the event include Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, Mark Seif, Kathy Liebert, Roy Cooke, Susie Isaacs, Mike Caro, and Tom McEvoy, among others. The event is set to precede the Nevada State Ladies Poker Championship which will run from April 15-16.
Topics scheduled for discussion include strategy for a variety of game variations (Texas Hold'em, Omaha, and Seven-Card Stud); playing positions and key hands; reading players and tells; proper betting amounts and pot odds; styles of play/mixing up play; poker basics; and advanced play.
Seminars will be conducted at small tables with one poker personality hosting each discussion and a Q&A session. In addition to the seminars, a charity raffle benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be hosted at the event, as well as a No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament and a cocktail party awarding door prizes.
Participants can register for the LIPS Poker Conference for $425, which includes a three night stay at Binion's (April 12-14), conference materials, a continental breakfast and buffet lunch during both days of the conference, and the cocktail party. Entry to the No-Limit Hold'em tournament will cost an additional $125. Conference registration will be capped at 200 participants. All interested participants must register prior to March 31.
