The record-breaking WPT Bay 101 edges ever closer to a final table with Dylan Linde taking the overall lead with 36 players remaining.

Linde soared past the one million chip mark and finished with 1.5 million at the end of play on Day 2.

Noted pros Noah Schwartz (1,320,000) and Kyle Julius (1,075,000) aren’t too far behind, however, and no doubt have their sights set on a final table appearance.

Hellmuth, Matusow Bust Before Money

Day 2 of Bay 101 wasn’t particularly kind to the big-name pros as Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow, Daniel Negreanu and Todd Brunson were all among the players who hit the rail before the money bubble burst.

Loni Harwood, Dan O’Brien, Adam Levy and Jake Bazely had a bit more luck and actually made it into the money.

Surprisingly Ari Engel, the massive chip leader from Day 1b, couldn’t keep up with the pack and ended up busting in the money.

Day 2 began with 280 players but got down to just 36 by the end of play.

Some of the other notables still in the contest include Dominik Nitsche, Anthony Gregg, Randy Lew, Maria Ho, Ankush Mandavia and Matt Salsberg.

Linde, who hails from Idaho, has nearly $1m in lifetime earnings but has never cashed in on a major title.

The 2016 Bay 101 would be a good place to start as the eventual winner will walk away with $1.3m.
