Leisure, gaming financial executive added to eCOGRA board
By Sarah Polson
Bill Henbrey, who recently retired from BDO Stoy Hayward in London, has been added as an independent director on the eCommerce and Online Gambling Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) board.
"I am delighted to be joining eCOGRA at the very time when online gaming standards and conduct are under immense scrutiny," Henbrey said. "This is an opportunity for me to assist the industry to raise its performance levels and ensure the highest degree of commitment to fair and responsible gaming."
Henbrey is a chartered accountant who was a partner and head of the betting and gaming, and leisure and hospitality units at BDO. He has more than 30 years of experience in business assurance and financial advisory working with land-based and online gambling operations.
In 2000 he was awarded the title "Best Business Adviser to Growing Businesses" by the CBI and Real Business magazine.
eCOGRA CEO Andrew Beveridge said the organization was fortunate to add Henbrey to the board.
"His expertise and impressive skills complement the high calibre regulatory and business talents of our three existing independent directors, Michael Hirst OBE, Frank Catania and Bill Galston OBE," he said.
