Lefebvre to contest all charges lawyer says
MSNBC is reporting NETeller co-founder John Lefebvre, arrested last week and charged with conspiring to transfer funds with the intent to promote illegal gambling, will fight all charges against him.
"He's going to be contesting everything we know about the charges right now," his attorney, Vincent Marella, was quoted as saying on Wednesday.
The NETeller founder, along with co-accused Stephen Lawrence, was arrested Jan. 15, and is currently released on $5 million bail.
In the meantime, the report said, he will have his travel restricted to parts of Los Angeles and New York state, where the charges were laid.
At his hearing Wednesday, MSNBC reports he refused to comment on the charges and only spoke up to say "end global warming."
Lawrence appeared in court for a hearing last Friday, and also indicated he would fight all charges against him.
The two Canadians founded NETeller in 1999 and remain shareholders, but had cut operational ties in the recent past.
If convicted, they each face up to 20 years in prison.
