Last chance for WSOPE
If you want to play in the WSOPE main event time may be running out.
Already the preregistration deadlines have passed for the H.O.R.S.E. and Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments and now the only one it's still possible to make is the main event's.
European Union citizens can wire transfer funds to register themselves only for the main event up to Sept. 1, at which point preregistration will no longer be available.
Craig Abrahams, director of broadcasting and new media for Harrah's Operating Company, Inc., explained why Harrah's needed to create a deadline for preregistration.
"Because seating is limited many players have requested information on paying in advance to ensure they are not shut out of events at the Inaugural WSOP of Europe presented by Betfair.com," he said. "The deadlines are necessary to us to be able to have enough time for wire-transfer funds to clear and for players to preregister. If seats are still available, players will be able to register in person."
All wire-transferred funds will be held on account for each player and be refundable to the player and may, at the option of the player, be used for completion of the registration process on site.
The WSOPE is primed to become the most prestigious poker tournament ever held in Europe and marks the first time the World Series has ventured outside Las Vegas. Already confirmed to play in the series are Doyle Brunson, Phill Hellmuth, Phil Ivey and 2006 Main Event winner Jamie Gold.
The series will be hosted at three casinos in London including Fifty on St. James Street, The Casino at the Empire on Leicester Square and the Sportsman at Marble Arch, all of which are operated by London Clubs International. The events will run through Sept. 6-16.
The main event of the series will carry with it a £10,000 buy-in while the H.O.R.S.E. will be £2,500 and the Pot-Limit will cost £5,000.
Wire transfer and pre-registration information is available at www.lcicclubs.com while additional information about the tournament can be found at World Series of Poker.
