Ladbrokes reports record revenues
The English poker and sportsbook giant, Ladbrokes, reports that its profit for the first half of the year had risen 30% to about $390 millions. Ladbrokes Nordic CEO Douglas Roos says that he is extremely pleased with the results.
The gain is mostly in the e-gaming area and Ladbrokes online and telephone gambling services. Although the results through Ladbrokes authorized shops in England is slightly down the gains in Ladbrokes other areas more than makes up for this.
In January British Ladbrokes acquired Nordic Ladbrokes and that merger have had a great impact on the results, according to Douglas Roos. Ladbrokes is now setting up shops in Italy and applying for gambling licenses in the Madrid region to further expand into Europe.
