To celebrate its fifth birthday, Ladbrokes Poker is giving the presents rather than receiving them. The site is gifting its players with more than $250,000 in cash, cruises and World Series of Poker seats this month.
To kick off the festivities, the poker room has bumped up the 5,000 Player Point Freeroll to include a prize pool of $150,000 in WSOP seats, including 10 World Series birthday packages.
Since May 4, Ladbrokes players who made the weekly leaderboard's top 50 receive an invite to a freeroll for $26,000 in WSOP prizes each week.
Also on the schedule is a series of Celebrity Nights, featuring Steve Davis or Roy the Boy competing in the 7 p.m. $10 freezeout with a $1,400 weekly final bounty. The pros will also have a bounty on their heads later that evening, when they play in cash games and sit-and-go events.
One final birthday present from Ladbrokes will wrap up the party: On May 31, Ladbrokes is hosting a $30,000-added Beat the Team event. Management from the site - 10 employees in all - will face the poker room's players with hefty bounties on their heads.
As each member of the management staff gets knocked out, the bounty goes up for the site's remaining employees. The first team player carries a $100 bounty, while the 10th features a $15,000 Birthday WSOP package.
The $15,000 WSOP Birthday package includes a $10,000 Main event buy-in, $2,000 in expenses, 14 nights accommodation at the Rio and a team Ladbrokes membership.
The $6,500 WSOP Birthday Package includes a $1,500 Event 55 buy-in, $2,000 in expenses, 14 nights accommodation and a team Ladbrokes membership.
