Ladbrokes LEOCOP returns in October
By Sarah Polson
The Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker will return for a fourth round this October with 15 days of online poker and plenty of added money to go around.
The LEOCOP IV is Europe's longest running and biggest added-money online poker tournament according to Ladbrokes. This year it will run Oct. 26-Nov. 9, with a Masters Event on Nov. 17.
The main event will take place Nov. 9 and has a $1,000+$100 buy-in. Plus Ladbrokes Poker will be pitching in an extra $250,000 for the prize pool.
Other events will include various Texas Hold'em events, Omaha events with a mixture of freezeout and rebuy structures. Ladbrokes will be adding between $2,500 and $250,000 to all the events.
"As you know, we put a lot of emphasis on the importance of community and the LEOCOP is like our annual family gathering," said Edward Ihre, Ladbrokes Poker MD.
He said the LEOCOP is one of the few times everyone will make an appearance on the poker site, and it give players a chance to catch up with friends and acquaintances.
"Of course, the kudos and the massive prize pools are also very good reasons that players Europe-wide play this fantastic event," Ihre said.
Ladbrokes will also be running a leaderboard during the LEOCOP this year with more than $14,000 in prize money to distribute to the top 10 players. The players who make it into the top 80 on the board will also be invited to play in the $120,000 LEOCOP Master Events freeroll.
The first-place prize in the freeroll will be a place in the semi-final of the Poker Million VII, plus some cash.
