Laak, Heimiller Make WPT Legends Final Six

Animated poker pros Phil Laak and Dan Heimiller are both within reach of a title at WPT Legends in LA.

Both players are members of the six-player final table with Laak second in chips with 4.7 million and Heimiller fighting from the short stack with 1.07 million.

Thanks to the 716 entrants in WPT Legends first place is worth $613,355.

Neither Laak or Heimiller has won an open-WPT title, although Laak burst onto the poker scene with a win at the WPT Invitational in 2004.

Both players will be looking up to former California State Poker Championship winner Ryan Goindoo who is the chip leader heading into play today with 5.5 million.

Pros Masek, Cristos Lurking at Final Table

Sam Barnhart just missed the final table coming in 12th place for $24,310. Stephen Graner, who finished eighth in this tournament last year, finished 13th for $19,445.

The final table is rounded out by San Diego circuit pro Alexandru Masek, Florida pro Jon Gordon and local Jordan Cristos.
