Kosta Sengos wins Horseshoe Council Bluffs
By Erik Sylven
An eight on the river gave Kosta Sengos victory in the Horseshoe Council Bluffs Main Event. "Gus", as he is called, gets $219,576, a World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) ring and an entry into the 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event for his efforts.
Kosta Sengos had to fight hard to win the tournament. The heads-up match against Paul Kraus was extremely tough and took several hours to finish.
The deciding moment came when both players flopped a pair of kings, but Sengos had Kraus out-kicked with an ace against a ten. After that hand, Kraus only had about $95,000 in chips left.
In the final hand, Sengos moved all-in with Jd-8s, and Kraus called with Qc-Tc. "Gus" paired his eight on the river and became champion of Horseshoe Council Bluffs.
Final table results from Horseshoe Council Bluffs WSOPC:
