Keep a Poker Journal of Your Wins, Losses (Poker Strategy Video)
Most people think they're winning poker players but you won't know for sure unless you keep an accurate record of your wins and losses.
In our latest free poker strategy video we explain the easiest way to get started keeping track of your results, and how to use that information to make better decisions about when and where to play.
At the very least you should be keeping track of how much you bought in for and how much you left with, as well as a running total of your all-time wins or losses.
Taking it one step further we show you how to track things like when and where you're playing, and what kind of opponents and games you were in. By looking closely at these stats you'll be able to focus on your strengths and avoid the spots that are costing you money.
Just make a point of taking a few notes in a journal or on your smart phone right after you finish every poker session.
Then, on a weekly or monthly basis transfer that info to a spreadsheet program like Excel. Once you get into taking more detailed records Excel will help you organize and analyze all the information.
Taking poker seriously means being honest with yourself about your strengths and weaknesses and the first step is keeping track of your results.
