Kalas, Elias Look to Dominate WPT Borgata Final Table

Darren Elias
Darren Elias

Kane Kalas and Darren Elias are 1-2 in chips heading into the WPT Borgata Poker Open final table with a $843,744 first-place prize within reach.

Kalas is the overwhelming chip leader with a staggering 14 million chips.

The son of former Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas is looking to break through with his first victory in a major poker tournament.

Kalas is already guaranteed the biggest score of his career as his previous high-water mark was finishing 115th in the 2014 WSOP Main Event for $52k. Kalas has already locked up over $100,000 in this event.

Meanwhile Darren Elias has had a ton of success in the poker world but is still looking for his first WPT title. Elias has made two other WPT final tables with a third place finish in Jacksonville and a fifth place finish in the Borgata Poker Open in Season X.

He enters the final table with 8 million chips and will have to figure out some way to overtake Kalas.

Painful Bubble for Jean Gaspard

Jean Gaspard

Jean Gaspard, who was the commanding chip leader on Day 3, ended up bubbling the final table when he shoved all-in with A T and got called by Kalas with pocket queens.

Gaspard picked up $135,393 for coming in sixth place but will have to wait another day to win his first WPT title.

Erik Cajelais (16th), Barry Shulman (18th) and Cornel Cimpan (22nd) were also among the players to bust on Day 4.

The final table begins at 4 p.m. ET today. To follow along just check out the WPT live updates. Here are the chip counts at the start of play:
