Junior League of Chicago 'Ante Up For Charity'

By Christopher Hunt

Here's the Junior League of Chicago's (JLC) recipe for an enjoyable and charitable Windy City Night: Texas Hold'em, The Tavern Club, Steve Rosenbloom, some fondue, Miller beer, a satellite entry to the Heartland Poker Tour. Also, of course: your best "smart casual" duds.

"Ante Up For Charity" is its name, and its centerpiece is a Texas Hold'em tournament, with players competing for some "fabulous prizes" and a satellite entry to the Heartland Poker Tour's televised main event.

Action goes this Saturday, March 3 at 7 p.m. at the Tavern Club in Chicago, with the proceeds to fund various JLC programs, among them the current project "Next Step for Teen Moms."

Steve Rosenbloom, Radio Host of ESPN 1000 Sports Talk Radio, will be the celebrity tournament director.

"“What more can I ask for on a Saturday night?" Rosenbloom says. "Red wine, the chance to dress up for a big evening and a poker tournament ... count me in.

"Seriously, I know the Junior League of Chicago makes strides in our community. I am pleased to help their efforts and look forward to an exciting evening."”

Tournament buy-in is $200 and for more information you can visit www.jlweb.org.
