Jujumalo first Everest Poker qualifier for WSOPE

The Winning Hand
A bracelet win is within jujumalo's grasp after winning a seat to the World Series of Poker Europe main event at Everest Poker.

It was a French invasion for the first direct entry poker tournament for the World Series of poker Europe main event at Everest Poker. Not only did France have the heaviest participation, it was one of their own who won the qualifier and the WSOPE seat.

The winner was jujumalo, who takes home a seat in the tournament plus money for travel and hotel expenses.

"Getting to send out players to a historical event like the first World Series of Poker Europe event is fantastic," said Jonathan May, Everest Poker property manager. "We fully believe that the WSOP Europe is going to become a rival to its American counterpart very quickly."

Jujumalo will have first-hand knowledge to be able to compare the two major tournaments himself. He was also one of the poker site's winners for a seat in Event 49, the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

He was one 39 players who headed to Vegas courtesy of Everest Poker, but unfortunately wasn't able to turn the event into a big cash win. He went out early when his king-high flush was beat by a player with the ace-high flush.

Now he'll have a chance to redeem himself Sept. 10 when he heads to London for the WSOP Europe £10,000 No-Limit Texas Hold'em championship.

Play in the event will start out at three separate casinos, The Empire, The Sportsman and Fifty. On Sept. 13, players will be whittled down enough to consolidate and play out the rest of the event at The Empire.

Many Europeans are clamoring for their shot at the event. According to Everest Poker, 107 participants in this qualifier for the WSOPE main event were from France, while Germany, Italy and The Netherlands also had a significant number of players taking their shot at the seat.

They'll get their chance again Aug. 4 and 18 when the poker site hosts direct-entry qualifiers again. There is one guaranteed seat for the WSOPE championship per tournament.

"We look forward to seeing more players take a shot at winning a seat at the biggest European poker event so far," May said. "Our satellites for these tournaments start out low and give players with any size of bank roll the chance to win big."
