Jerry Yang to play in APPT Macau

2007 WSOP winner Jerry Yang will be playing in the APPT Macau main event.
By Erik Sylven
2007 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Jerry Yang will be one of the stars in the inaugural APPT Macau, which starts on Friday and is part of the Asia Pacific tour sponsored by PokerStars.
The world champion has kept a low profile since his $8 million triumph this summer, and has only made a few appearances on the poker scene.
Yang's only major cash in the last few months is a 14th-place finish in the 2007 Binion's Poker Open, which gave him $1,324 in prize money.
Now the 39-year-old Laos-born Yang-banger is making the trip to China to play in the $2,500 APPT Macau main event, where he will be joined by top-class players such as Scotty Nguyen, Joe Hachem, Hevad Khan, Tuan Lam, Chad Brown, Kirk Morrison and William Chen.
Several other pros, including Barry Greenstein, Liz Lieu, Vanessa Rousso, Jeffrey Lisandro, Isabelle Mercier and John Juanda, will also be in Macau to play in the $15,000 High Roller Event, which starts on Monday.
According to host PokerStars, this is the first-ever poker tournament to be held in Macau, and PokerListings.com will of course be there on this historic occasion.
Our star reporter Owen Laukkanen will bring you all the action in the Live Tournaments section, both from the sold-out main event and from the spectacular High Roller Event.
