Camera crews struggle to keep up with the action on Day 3 of the EPT London main event.

UK poker pro James Mitchell leads the final 62 players as Day 3 of the 2011 PokerStars.com EPT London main event wraps for the night.

Mitchell, who made a name for himself when he won the 2010 Irish Open for more than $800,000, finished the day as the only player with more than 1 million chips. He will lead the way to the final table tomorrow, and the £750,000 waiting for the eventual winner.

Day 3 at the Hilton Metropole cut the starting field of 159 down by 97 and with just 104 spots available in the money, 55 of those busted players were forced to exit the tournament with nothing to show for their effort.

Steve Warburton was eliminated on the pure money bubble, hitting the bricks in 105th place and leaving each of the remaining players with a guaranteed £7,500 payday.

Among those who made the money but fell short of a seat on Day 4 was Doyle Brunson, who recorded his first EPT entry, and cash, this week in London.

Brunson entered the day with a healthy stack and was seated on the feature table with then-chip leader Benny Spindler but was unable to keep it together, busting towards the end of the afternoon after three-bet shoving A-3 into A-K.

Also in the money but busted today were Sebastian Ruthenberg, Jeff Sarwer, Bryn Kenney, Jose Barbero, Toby Lewis, Phil Shaw and Nicolas Chouity.

Notable names still in contention include start of day chip leader Benny Spindler, Martins Adeniya, Basile Yaiche, Jamie Rosen, Sebastian Blom, Scott Shelley, Roberto Romanello, Laurence Houghton, Marvin Rettenmaier, Steve O’Dwyer, Ana Marquez, Humberto Brenes and Barney Boatman.

Each of the 62 who will return tomorrow to play down to the final three tables is guaranteed at least £11,000. Click here for a full rundown of the prize structure.
