Ivey's Prop Bet Sweetens the Pot

Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey and Tommy Vedes are both playing in today's six-max $2.5k NLHE event.

First prize pays more than $630k, but that's not quite enough for these high stakes sharks.

Both have cross-booked action on the win. If Vedes wins, Ivey will pay him an additional 30% of the prize pool-approximately $189k. If Ivey wins, then Vedes will owe him 20% on top, or approximately $126k.

It's common knowledge that Ivey's bankroll knows no bounds. Vedes is no stranger to throwing around some Benjamins either. The night before he won the first round of this year's $5k shootout, Vedes stayed up all night playing blackjack at the Wynn. He reportedly pocketed in excess of $75k after an initial investment of less than $3k.

If neither player wins then all bets are off. Let's hope we see both of them at Wednesday's final table.

I have never heard of Tommy Vedes. Looks like a google search is in order.
