Ivey makes magazine's list of top achievers

By: Lianne Elias

Poker prodigy Phil Ivey has made Black Enterprise's Hot List of America's Most Powerful Players Under 40, which is featured in the publication's December issue.

The 29-year old poker pro is widely considered one of the most talented poker players on the professional circuit, a notion he reinforced this past week by winning two major international tournaments back-to-back and collecting $1.6 million for his efforts. He joins a group of high powered, mega talented young African American professionals, including Tiger Woods, Halle Barry, Tyra Banks, Will Smith, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, P. Diddy, and Kayne West, among others.

The list is updated yearly and features African Americans who have helped to generate billions of dollars in revenue through accomplishments in business, media, entertainment, and sports, among other professions.

The issue is currently available at newsstands across the country.
