Miami John and funky bunch for WPT final

He's not the big stack, but poker pro "Miami" John Cernuto has got to be feeling golden for the World Poker Tour's (WPT) Celebrity Invitational final table today: It's him and a motley crew of castaways left for the $100,000 top prize and, possibly, the $25,000 buy-in for the WPT Championship.

There was nary a Hilton sister or a Vince Vaughan (real or imitation) to be seen on Day 2 of the WPT Celebrity Invitational from the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles yesterday.

But it didn't seem to bother "Miami" John Cernuto and a somewhat funky mix of celebs and poker pros, who played through the pain to the six-person final table in a fast and furious display of capricious and whimsical poker.

His table mates for today? Glenn Morshower, likely best known for playing Aaron Pierce on 24. Nick Cassavetes, likely best known for being the son of John Cassavetes and Gena Rowlands. And the somewhat mysterious trio of David Mosikian, Adam Weinraub and Tim West.

Combined poker cashes to date: Somewhat unknown, although Mosikian, it can be confirmed, did take $490 at the 2003 Heavenly Hold'em event.

Here are the chip counts heading in to today's final:

Top spot will earn $100,000 and a $25,000 seat in the WPT Championship (with the exception of Cernuto, having bought-in to Championship already to be eligible for the Invitational), with nobody walking away with less than $5,000 for the charity of their choice.
