Isildur1 and Haxton Rematch Set for Sunday
Viktor “Isildur1” Blom will attempt to get revenge on Isaac Haxton in another edition of the SuperStar Showdown on PokerStars this Sunday.
In 11 matches, Haxton was the only player that walked away with some of Blom’s cash. Daniel Negreanu actually won his second match against Blom but the Swede still finished up over $100k on Kid Poker.
Haxton finished the SuperStar Showdown, which was actually the first one ever played in December 2010, with $41k of Blom’s cash. The session had a visible impact on Haxton, who plays on PokerStars as Philivey2694.
"No one has ever more consistently made me miserable when playing against them," Haxton said after the match. "I guess I'd put (Phil) Ivey in second for that, but it's honestly not that close."
To date Blom has beaten Tony G, Dan Cates, Eugene Katchalov, Daniel Negreanu, Scott Palmer, Rui Cao and Terje “Terken89” Augdal.
That doesn’t include PokerStars qualifiers Attila Gulcsik and Mastermixus, who Blom played at $5/$10 No-Limit Hold’em in a promo for the site.
Blom is up over $500k lifetime in SuperStar Showdown events.
It’s been over six months since the last SuperStar Showdown, where Isildur1 rocked Terje “Terken89” Augdal for $150,000.
The stakes will be bigger than ever this Sunday with Haxton and Isildur1 both sitting down with $300,000 and the match will be played with four $100/$200 tables.
As usual the winner will be the player who finishes with more cash after 2,500 hands or completely exhausts the other player’s bankroll before the hands are finished.
The match begins at noon ET on Sunday and railbirds are welcome. Just be sure to go the high stakes cash game section in the PokerStars lobby and look for the SuperStar Showdown tables.
