Isildur1 Reigns Supreme on PokerStars

Viktor “Isildur1” Blom has been strangely quiet since online poker’s Black Friday but made some noise last night by winning $183k.

The Swede played 1,576 hands on PokerStars, the majority against noted online pro Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky at $50/$100 heads-up Pot-Limit Omaha.

Sulsky and Blom played over 600 hands against each other and Blom ended up taking a little over $100k from the U.S.-born pro.

Apparently it wasn’t enough action for Blom who went on to play a series of $25/$50 PLO heads-up matches against adiprene1 and gavz101. By the time Blom called it a night he was up a total of $183k.

Blom has not been especially active since U.S. players were locked out of PokerStars but he has started to trend upwards.

He entered April down nearly $400k but he’s recorded a few nice sessions over the past two weeks and has erased his deficit to $250k on the year.

As this article was published, Blom was just starting another huge session of $50/$100 PLO against gavz101 so his results may change dramatically by the end of the day.

The rest of the players in the top five last night were all on Full Tilt and considerably less well known than Blom. The list included SanderB12 (+$122k), LFmagic (+$103k), UarePileous (+$86k), davin77 (+$79k).

Meanwhile, ZInsenamnn, who has been red-hot on PokerStars, ended up losing some big $50/$100 sessions to Sauce123 and gavz101.

Sauce123 and gavz101 both won nearly what they lost against Isildur1 and by the end of his session ZInsenamnn was down a total of $198k.

ZInsenamnn wasn’t the only player to lose stacks of cash as O Fortuna PLS dropped $101k and XWINK lost $100k.

O Fortuna PLS, who is rumored to be a German Limit Hold’em specialist, has had a solid 2011 but has been cold the last week. He’s holding on to $603k profit in online poker for 2011.

Meanwhile XWINK has been doing everything in his power to get back to the high stakes games on Full Tilt but simply hasn’t been able to escape the $25/$50 level. He’s still up about $130k this year.
