Who says high-stakes online poker is dead?

Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and Alexander “joiso” Kostritsyn wagered hundreds of thousands of dollars against each other on PokerStars this week.

Blom jumped out to a massive $400k score earlier in the week but Kostritsyn battled back the last couple of days and won back $200k, according to highstakesDB.

Kostritsyn and Blom weren’t the only pros to take to the high-stakes games either as Dan “jungleman” Cates and Trueteller were busy as well.

Dan Cates, who plays as w000ki3z on PokerStars, was actually the biggest winner on the week pulling in $177k.

Unfortunately Cates is still down $274k on the year but there’s plenty of time to make that up.

Interestingly most of Kostritsyn and Blom’s games were played at the $1k/$2k 8-game tables. The pair played a 10-hour session of heads-up 8-game on Wednesday.

On Thursday night Trueteller also joined the table but couldn’t get much going against either Blom or Kostritsyn.

It’s been an interesting year for high-stakes online poker. The games on PokerStars have been significantly slower than previous years and right now the Andres "Educa-p0ker" Artinano is biggest winner with $629k in profit.

The renowned Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky is up to $403k, which puts him in second place. Sulsky has been amazingly consistent on PokerStars and only recorded one losing year on the site and that was in 2013.

Meanwhile Blom is down $77k on the year while Kostritsyn is in the red for $121k.
