Irish Poker Open doubling-up for 2007
By Sarah Polson
Next year the Irish Poker Open will be twice the size as it was in 2006 both in terms of players and prize pool. The event is expected grow to a guaranteed €2 million and boast an 800-player capacity that will split Day 1 of the tournament into two days.
The tournament has a €3,300 buy-in, plus €200 registration fee, and will take place in Dublin over the 2007 Easter weekend.
The 2006 Irish Poker Open had a €1 million guaranteed prize pool and 339 competitors, including several professional poker players such as Mel Judah, Padraig Parkinson, Roy Brindley, and Per Hilderbrand.
Vincent Melinn outlasted the field of 339 players to come out on top and win the €350,000 top prize.
