Irish eyes smiling on WSOP bubble boy
Remember Hoa Manh Nguyen?
Dubbed "the unluckiest guy in poker" when he busted the bubble at the 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, just missing out on the money, he's getting a second chance to change his luck, in none other than the "luckiest" place on earth: Ireland.
After word got out he was the subject of an article in a U.K. poker magazine and being offered an entry package to the 2007 Irish Open from a Web site, the Californian surfaced and claimed his prize.
And the luck of the infamous "Bubble Boy" already seems to be changing, as he will now get flights, accommodation and the entry fee to the €2 million guaranteed Irish Poker Open held in Dublin over Easter weekend in April.
The 26th Irish Open will be held at Dublin's Burlington Hotel and up to 700 players will be paying €3,300+€200 to play. The final table will also be televised.
Last year, local player Vincent Melinn won the €350,000 first-place prize in only his second live tournament.
