The money bubble burst faster than anyone thought possible during Day 2 of the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure on Monday.

The day began with 635 players looking to make their way into the money. Pieter de Korver, Dwyte Pilgrim, Chris Moneymaker were all riding high in the chip counts.

New Team PokerStars Pro Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, who had an impressive debut under the public eye, finally busted when he lost a coin flip with A-Q against an opponent’s pocket jacks for all his chips.

Blom busted just short of the money but likely didn’t feel too bad as he already picked up more than $10,000 in his heads-up match against Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier.

Isildur1 wasn't the only notable player to hit the rail on Day 2 as Liv Boeree, Dario Minieri, Sandra Naujoks, John Duthie and Harrison Gimbel all busted.

By this point Eric Froehlich, Eric Buchman and Jonathan Jaffe had established themselves as the new players to beat with massive stacks.

The money bubble burst in the last level of the night and that guaranteed the remaining 235 players at least a taste of the money.

After a rousing cheer when the bubble burst, players got right back to business and the flood to the payout booth began.

The tournament staff did not expect the money to be reached until Day 3 of the PCA and had to quickly set up a temporary payout booth.

By the time the dust had cleared and action was suspended for the evening there were only 173 players remaining.

Online poker player Adam Geyer took the overall chip lead with a 909k stack. Eric Buchman, Jonathan Jaffe, Eric Froehlich and Faraz Jaka will also be among the chip leaders when action resumes tomorrow.

Day 3 will begin at 12:00 p.m. tomorrow as players attempt to navigate their way into the serious money.

The 2011 PCA continues through Jan. 15 and PokerListings will be on the scene every day with live updates, news, photos and videos.
