It appeared Ilari Sahamies was headed for another huge loss on PokerStars last night but this time the Finnish pro fought back.

After 1,240 hands of $200/$400 Pot-Limit Omaha against Skervoy and socutiesf, Sahamies found himself down $250k.

Instead of quitting, Sahamies decided to fire off another 1,520 hands and it ended up being the best decision he made last night.

Sahamies was nearly unstoppable as he won pot after pot, some worth over $100k, and eventually finished the night with $40k in profit.

It was a fortunate break for Sahamies who lost more than $1 million to Isildur1 earlier this month.

The aggressive Finn is now holding on to a slim profit of $69k in 2011 but it’s far better than the $818k he was down in mid-July.

Meanwhile socutiesf still managed to walk away with a huge victory as he stacked up $174k before the night was finished. The win will go a long ways to displace the $201k he lost earlier this year on PokerStars.

Right behind socutiesf was Jens “Jeans89” Kyllonen, who 3,744 hands last night and picked up $126k. The former EPT Copenhagen winner has been one of the most successful online poker players this year with over $1 million in profit.

Rounding out the rest of the top five winners last night were machado28 (+$108k) and JayP-AA (+$58k).

Verve.oasis was the biggest loser last night, although it certainly wasn’t due to lack of effort. The online player recorded a staggering 7,677 hands and ended up losing $138k.

Meanwhile Rafi “refaelamit” Amit, who had some success earlier this week, didn’t find the same groove last night as he lost $124k.

The other big losers included LuckyGump (-$124k), Axelf82 (-$105k) and 0Human0 (-$92k).
