IGREA gains another ally
Rep. Barney Frank's Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act gained another co-sponsor this week with the addition of Rep. Ellen Tauscher.
Tauscher is a Democrat from California who is in her sixth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. She serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Armed Services Committee.
As a co-sponsor for IGREA, Tauscher continues her opposition to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act that was passed into law in 2006. She voted against the bill when it was passed in the House.
Tauscher's co-sponsorship brings the list up to 45. The 44 other co-sponsors for the bill are:

Rep. Robert Wexler has also introduced a bill in the House that seeks to exclude poker from the current laws because it's a game of skill. Rep. Shelley Berkley, for her part, has proposed a bill that calls for a study of online gambling to determine what course of action on the issue is best for the nation.
