IamBetterThanU proves it with ECOOP win
By Sarah Polson
The European Championship of Online Poker hosted by poker sites on the iPoker Network began its third tournament series on Monday night. It was a successful night for both the tournament and the players as the guaranteed prize pool was bolstered by a crowd of 1,420 players.
The first event in the ECOOP III was a $200+$15 No-Limit Hold'em event with a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. There will be 14 events in total, each with a $100,000 or more guaranteed prize pool, for players on the iPoker Network, which includes sites such as Titan Poker and CD Poker.
The crowd of online poker players that showed up for the first event meant that the guaranteed prize pool was actually bested, and players were working for a piece of a $284,000 prize pool instead.
There were 150 players in all who scored some cash in the event, but IamBetterThanU proved to be the best player this time around as he picked up a $59,640 first-place prize.
The final-table results were:
| Place | Name | Prize |
| 1st | IamBetterThanU | $59,640 |
| 2nd | DSever | $31,240 |
| 3rd | KPOP | $22,720 |
| 4th | RITMOLOKO666 | $17,040 |
| 5th | debora08 | $14,200 |
| 6th | klonkis | $11,360 |
| 7th | Dom217 | $8,520 |
| 8th | alessiops | $5,680 |
| 9th | Riggelirigg | $3,976 |
There are still plenty of opportunities to play in the ECOOP III as well. The action continues today with a $200+$15 Limit Hold'em Six-Max event and more events will follow, leading up to the main event on Dec. 7.
To get in on the action, head to Titan Poker or CD Poker and see what else the sites have to offer as well.
