Amazing Race runner takes WSOPC event
Terry Lake Garner, a 37-year-old dentist from Hattiesburg, Miss., known for both his poker prowess and an appearance on The Amazing Race, has won Event 9 - $1,000+$60 No-Limit Hold'em - at the Bayou Poker Challenge.
One of the higher buy-in events at this year's World Series of Poker Circuit series stop in New Orleans, the tourney saw 266 players fork over the coin, with Garner - no stranger to winning poker tournaments, having taken a World Poker Tour Season 3 event - eventually riding a final table chip lead all the way to the finish.
His final take: $82,566 and a gold WSOP Circuit ring for first place.
