Few things in poker can be as taxing for a player's mental well being as almost, but not quite, making it into the money in a big tournament. Just ask those unhappy players whose bubble-finish cost them $12,500 in the 2006 WSOP Main Event. Hollywood Poker is offering players insurance against this kind of misfortune during the 2007 WSOP.
All players who win their WSOP entry in one of the poker room's satellites as well as Hollywood Poker players going to the WSOP on their own bankroll are eligible for the insurance.
To qualify, players need only earn 1,500 poker points before the start of the WSOP.
Insured players who finish within five places of the money will be compensated with an amount equal to the last-place payout. Last year the last paid place was worth $12,500.
With the World Series of Poker approaching, it's high time interested players started navigating their way through the online satellite offerings. Hollywood Poker runs a series of WSOP freerolls and low buy-in qualifiers as well as a $20 celebrity shootout.
Prizes consist of Main Event entries, WSOP prize packages or WSOP Dollars that can be spent on event entries, accommodation and airfare.
