Hollywood Poker has announced it will be hosting a Grand Series of Poker boasting six events and $1,950,000 in guaranteed cash prizes. The week-long series of high stakes tournaments will lead up to a $1 million Guaranteed Grand Tournament VII beginning on April 29, 2006. The series will begin on April 24, 2006.
The Grand Series of Poker will offer five different $475 + $25 events, including a No-Limit Hold'em Short-handed tournament ($300,000 Guarantee); a Pot-Limit Omaha tournament ($150,000 Guarantee); a Pot-Limit Five Card Draw tournament ($150,000 Guarantee); a Limit Hold'em tournament ($150,000 Guarantee); and a Limit Omaha Hi-Lo tournament ($150,000 Guarantee).
The first five events will boast starting stacks of $5,000 chips, while the $1,000 GT VIII No-Limit Hold'em main event will offer a $10,000 starting stack. A $50,000 Table of Champions freeroll will run on April 31, 2006. Each player will be given $5,000 in starting chips. All tournaments will have 30 minute blind levels.
Sit & Go qualifiers are currently running at the poker room for players interested in competing. However, the qualifying structures for the $475 + $25 events and the Grand Tournament VII differ.
Players interested in qualifying for the Tournament of Champions must be one of the top ten overall players from the previous Grand Series of Poker events. For each event, players will score points counting towards a Table of Champions ranking. The top ten players in the ranking after the conclusion of the Grand Tournament VII will qualify for the $50,000 Table of Champions.
