Review

Almost every poker player in the U.S. and Europe - as well as many non-aficionados - know the name Daniel Negreanu. With three WSOP titles, countless tournament cashes and a permanent seat in the "Big Game," Negreanu is one of the most well-known poker players of all time.

So naturally, when he decides to write a book, it's a big deal in the poker community.

Hold'em Wisdom for All Players is a well-written and easy-to-read beginner's book. It features a massive amount of tips and advice on when, how and where to play poker and what to do while playing it.

The book is divided into 50 chapters and covers everything from rookie mistakes and bankroll management to when not to play poker.

The chapters are short, well written and to the point, making for a useful reference book that addresses most situations beginner players will need to think about and reflect on.

Some of the book's chapters are particularly well written, like "Top-10 Trouble Hand" and "Be Careful What You Learn on TV," and give the reader illuminating glimpses of what goes on in the mind of a poker champion.

For most people starting out playing Texas Hold'em, this book is a rich resource to come back to now and again when playing. Experienced players, however, will find the book a little repetitive, especially because it really does not offer any groundbreaking theories or new ideas.

Overall, Hold'em Wisdom for All Players is a user-friendly book for beginner poker players everywhere. Players looking for new theories or groundbreaking approaches to poker should probably look elsewhere.
