Review

Have you ever found your pocket kings broken by a straight caught on the river, cursing the poker gods that you played against someone stupid enough to bet his draw against your made hand? Well, under certain circumstances, he may actually have been a favorite all the way from the flop. At least, that's what authors Rolf Slotboom and Dew Mason say in their book, Hold'em on the Come, which aims to explain and advise on every imaginable draw in Limit Hold'em.

Slotboom and Mason discuss how to handle each draw depending on the opposition, and they do a good job, mixing plenty of hand examples with odds tables and explanations of different concepts and strategies. At the end of every chapter, Rolf "Ace" Slotboom comments with his personal views on the subject at hand, a thoughtful added touch that sometimes gives a useful second take on the subject in question.

Hold'em on the Come is far from entertaining and exiting but is definitely a very useful and easy to understand book. If read and used appropriately, it is almost certain the reader will become a better Limit Hold'em player. If you play low to medium Limit Hold'em, this book is for you.
