Hilton sisters flummoxed at Celebrity Invitational

Paris Hilton

They didn't last particularly long. And there was little evidence they even knew what game they were playing. But the infamous Hilton sisters and an alphabet soup of A-, B- and C-list sports, poker and entertainment stars hit the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles yesterday for the start of the always-entertaining World Poker Tour (WPT) Celebrity Invitational.

Also of note for bloggers and fan sites everywhere: The guy from the live-action version of Scooby Doo has been eliminated. And Donnie Wahlberg has step-by-stepped his way out of contention as well.

But rest easy, there are 90 of L.A.'s finest celebrity poker players (and a few fine poker pros who get to play) still in the mix, with action set to resume today at 3:30 p.m. and to continue unabated (with the exception of cocktail and cupcake breaks) until the field is narrowed to a final table of six players.

The televised finale then plays out Monday, and among those still in the running are Vanessa Rousso, Willie Garson, John Phan, Evelyn Ng, Ron Livingston, Allen Kessler, Robert Mizrachi, and Jeff Cabanillas.

Among those not in the running: Jennifer Tilly, Hank Azaria, Don Cheadle, Erik Seidel, Erick Lindgren, Phil Laak, James Woods, Vince Vaughan, Jason Alexander and, sadly, the Hilton sisters, Paris and Nicky.

PokerListings.com's Owen Laukkanen is feltside with a mittful of mini-cupcakes to solicit secret hand details and exclusive interviews, to which you can tune in exclusively in our Live Tournament Section.
