High Stakes Poker IV premiering on GSN

Look at all those donkeys!

The biggest televised cash game on the planet is coming back for another season.

High Stakes Poker IV is set to premier Monday, Aug. 29 at 9 p.m. on the GSN network. The popular high-stakes poker program will feature Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Todd Brunson and Mike Matusow along with newcomers Brian Brandon, Antonio Salorio and Haralabos Voulgaris in the first episode of the season.

Phil Hellmuth will also be joining the eight-player table after a two-year hiatus from the program. The newly minted 11-time WSOP bracelet winner will be putting his legendary reputation (or is that ego?) on the line as he attempts to improve upon his previous High Stakes Poker showings.

A total of 17 action-packed episodes will air this year and as in previous GSN high-stakes poker games the buy-in of $100,000 will be paid by the players themselves. For one episode on Nov. 5 the minimum buy-in will be bumped up to $500,000 giving new meaning to the term "high stakes." It will be the richest season ever for the program with over $5 million on the table throughout the year.

Some of the best poker players in the world will be taking part in this year's season including Patrik Antonius, David Benyamine, Doyle Brunson, Eli Elezra, Sam Farha, Jamie Gold, Barry Greenstein, Jennifer Harman and Daniel Negreanu. There will also be newcomers in the form of Brandon Adams, Mike Baxtar, Phil Galfond, Guy Laliberte and Bob Safai.

The new episodes will air every Monday night at 9 p.m. with encore showings on Thursday at 9 p.m. and Wednesday at 2 a.m.

Gabe Kaplan and AJ Benza will return to commentate on all the action of HSP IV.
