By: Erin Warner

Giorgio34 might have been a dark horse coming to high-stakes Betfair Poker tables, but proving himself at the site's $250/$500 Pot-Limit Omaha game wasn't an issue.

A site newcomer, Giorgio34 walked away from the game with a solid reputation and $420,000.

At one point during the two and a half hour session the player turned a pair of sevens into a $190,000 pot win.

Betfair Poker regulars Erik1234 and -secret- faced Giorgio34 at the virtual felt and made generous donations to the newbie's stack in the process.

The site is hyping its high-stakes action of late, noting that the maximum rake per pot on the $250/$500 No-Limit Hold'em tables is only $1.

More customers are turning out for the big games at the site because its high-stakes liquidity and secure payment system, said Betfair's head of poker, Ben Fried, in a release Friday.

Regular high rollers at the poker room include Bennyboi, Doooom, Duhfin, Erik1234, Hijay, kunkku, LoisLane, lolmenot, sincero, -secret-, The Slayer and now, Giorgio34.
