Hellmuth takes W Las Vegas Poker Invitational, wins condo

Pro player Phil Hellmuth walked away with the deed to a $700,000, fully furnished property in the W Las Vegas Hotel, Casino and Residences this past weekend at the W Las Vegas Poker Invitational at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

According to reports, immediately after winning the luxurious condo, Hellmuth upgraded to a $2 million penthouse suite which happens to be situated next door to hotel heiress Paris Hilton.

The inaugural W Las Vegas Poker Invitational was attended by 50 pro players and celebrities, including Hellmuth, Antonio Esfandiari, Annie Duke, Phil Gordon, Phil Laak, Dave Navarro, Anne Heche, Gina Gershon, and Shannon Elizabeth.

Danny and Chris Masterson, Laura Prepon, Lance Bass, DJ AM, Joe Reitman, Gregory Smith, Justin Baldoni, Kevin Smith, Emile Hirsch, and Joel and Benji Madden also played.

Aside from Hellmuth, final table finishers included event host Reagan Silber, Annie Duke, Shannon Elizabeth, Gina Gershon, Julie Yorn, and Chris Masterson.

Residences in the luxurious Las Vegas development will go on sale to the public in the spring of 2006.

The W Las Vegas Hotel, Casino and Residences will be located at the intersection of Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane, 500 meters east of the Las Vegas Strip, and will include a casino, a Bliss Spa, a fitness center, and hotel and residential units.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2009.
