Hellmuth Hunting For 12th WSOP Bracelet

Phil Hellmuth is amongst the chip leaders on the final day of the $1.5 No-Limit.

Phil Hellmuth always makes a grand entrance, but the buzz around the Poker Brat is even higher than normal as the Event 8 $1.5k No-Limit resumes today.

Hellmuth comes back for Day 3 of the event fifth in chips at 556k, with just 25 remaining players in the field.

The 11-time WSOP bracelet winner was the last of the 25 players to arrive in the Amazon Room for the 3 p.m. start time, and he's currently the center of attention in the room.

The UB cornerstone is within striking distance of bracelet No. 12 and everyone on hand knows it.

Hellmuth's public profile is still at an all-time high and despite some of the antics associated with the "Poker Brat" image he has one of the undisputed best tournament records at the WSOP.

He has a mind-boggling 75 cashes and 41 final tables at the WSOP coming into 2010, both all-time records.

Hellmuth's 11 bracelets are also an all-time record, and since winning the Main Event in 1989, Hellmuth has never had a span of more than four years without winning a bracelet.

Perhaps the only knock on Hellmuth is that he hasn't snagged a bracelet in the last two WSOPs. His last bracelet came in 2007 in $1.5k No-Limit Hold'em, the same style-event he's trying to conquer today.
