According to a recent Internet report, Phil Hellmuth has been overrun with poker-related business opportunities this past year, and more are pouring in every day. Apparently, since Hellmuth took home the title at the inaugural National Heads-up Poker Championship (NHPC) in March, 2005, he has been swamped with a variety of offers ranging from reality TV shows to clothing lines.
Hellmuth, by all accounts a busy man before winning the NHPC, has a number of deals in the works, including negotiations to have a Phil Hellmuth clothing line sold in Wal-Mart stores; negotiations for the creation of a "Poker Brat" children's clothing line; the production of a London-based reality TV series; the production of a U.S.-based reality TV show entitled "Winner Take All" (title subject to change post-production); and negotiations to purchase a stake in Card Player Magazine.
Another Hellmuth work-in-progress is his Camp Hellmuth series, which kicked off at Caesars Palace last summer in Las Vegas. Described as a weekend fantasy camp for poker players interested in learning Hold'em from some of the world's top players, attendees participate in multi-table and single-table tournaments, and attend seminars lead by Hellmuth and fellow poker legends T.J. Cloutier, Cyndy Violette, Scott Fischman, and Antonio Esfandiari, among others. The next camp is scheduled to take place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from February 9 to 11.
