Hehellover burns path to a LEOCOP win
After taking on several events already in the Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker with moderate success, Hehellover finally tasted victory Monday night with a Pot-Limit Omaha event win.
The $200+$20 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship of the LEOCOP IV drew in a fair amount of familiar players to Ladbrokes Poker. Roy "ROYTHEBOY" Brindley, Jeff "JaffaCake" Kimber and Andreas "_Theah_" put in appearances at the tables.
Sophiexxx also returned from his Second Chance Plus 1 event win to cash in 25th place. The $539.70 cash puts Sophiexxx in 10th position on the LEOCOP Masters Leaderboard and in the running for a share of the $14,000 in bonus cash.
While slim_boy still tops the Masters Leaderboard with 767 points and james666 is just behind him with 764 points, Hehellover propelled himself up into third place with his LEOCOP event win. Hehellover also has a 17th-place finish in the first event, as well as a 27th-place finish and a 48th-place finish in other events, to earn 744 leaderboard points.
The top 10 players on the leaderboard at the end of the LEOCOP will earn a share of a $14,000 prize pool. The top 80 players on the Leaderboard will be invited to play in the LEOCOP IV Masters Event.
The Masters Event will take place Nov. 22, with the winner earning a seat in the semifinal round of the Poker Million VII.
The Poker Million VII seat is worth $120,000 and guarantees $20,000 in prize money along with the opportunity to play in a televised event that will give $1 million to the winner.
Hehellover is well positioned on the leaderboard now to play for that seat as well as to pick up some of the leaderboard prize pool money.
His last obstacle to get to the position was TomasToget in heads-up play. Hehellover went into heads-up with a 2-1 chip lead. After the blinds passed between the two a few times, they finally came to a head when Hehellover raised pre-flop and got a call from ThomasToget.
The flop came J♣ 7♠ 3♣, and TomasToget check-raised Hehellover's bet of $66,000 to $264,000. Hehellover countered with an all-in and when ThomasToget called, the rest was history.
ThomasToget showed 6♠ 5♠ Q♥ 7♣, and Hehellover showed A♦ A♥ T♠ T♣. The turn and river brought J♥ Q♦ and ThomasToget was left with a second-place finish and 34th position on the LEOCOP Masters Leaderboard.
The final-table results were:
More events of the LEOCOP IV continue today, and the series will culminate in the main event on Sunday, which has a $1,000+$100 buy-in. Ladbrokes will be chipping in an extra $250,000 into the prize pool.
