Havoc Energy Drink announced this week it is sponsoring Bill Edler at the World Poker Open and has also made a deal to deliver a co-branded drink featuring the Gold Strike World Poker Open tournament.

"After a successful launch of the Beau Rivage energy drink powered by Havoc at the WPT Gulf Coast Poker Championship in 2007, we decided to team up with Havoc once again at another MGM Mirage Property and disrupt the ordinary at the Gold Strike Casino & Resort," said Ken Lambert, director of poker operations.

"We are very excited about creating Havoc at the Gold Strike World Poker tournament."

The co-branded energy drink will be available at the Gold Strike restaurants and bars as well as on the casino floors during and after the tournament.

Havoc is based in Dallas, Texas, where it develops, manufactures and distributes the Havoc Energy Drink.

"With energy drink sales continuing to grow in every sector of the market, we are excited about becoming a corporate partner with Gold Strike Casino & Resort," said C.K. Williams, Havoc's president. "We will disrupt the ordinary at the World Poker Open tournament with our great tasting formula and create Havoc in the energy drink market by providing an exceptional product that will keep customers coming back for more."

The World Poker Tour World Poker Open got under way Jan. 20 with its first Day 1. Bill Edler entered the fray on Day 1b, but was unable to make it into the money.
