Hansen Stomps Luukie21
Gus Hansen continues to silence critics with another strong performance last night winning nearly $600k.
Hansen has now won $1.2 million in two weeks and is inching closer and closer to getting even after being down $3.6 million at one point this year.
The Great Dane recorded an epic 2,146 hand session last night where he played $200/$400 PLO, $500/$1,000 Seven-Card Stud and $1,000/$2,000 H.O.R.S.E.
The majority of the session, however, was played in heads-up $500/$1,000 PLO against recent online upstart Luukie21.
Heading into the session Luukie21 was riding a serious hot streak that saw him win over $200k in the last week.
It all came to a crashing end last night as Hansen crushed Luukie21 for an astounding $595k.
Hansen later donated a small portion of his winnings to some of the other high stakes players but he still finished with an extra $582k in his bankroll.
Meanwhile Luukie21 made a valiant effort to erase his deficit and actually finished down just $480k but still a terrible day for the unidentified online player.
With his huge victory last night Gus Hansen is officially not the biggest loser of 2010. That dubious honor goes to Brian Townsend who is down $2.5 million.
Hansen is only down $2.4 million now. It’s worth nothing that Townsend is currently playing under his sbruby alias and that account is down $1.5 million, which means his actual losses are closer to $3.5 million.
Some of the other big winners from last night included rumprammer (+$151k), Ziigmund (+$90k), URnotINdanger2 (+$78k).
Losers were Arbianight (-$160k), DrugsOrMe (-$103k), harrington25 (-$55k) and howitfeelslike (-$24k).
