Gus Hansen turned the tables on Dan “jungleman12” Cates last night by winning $238k in the high stakes games on Full Tilt.

Cates and Hansen only played 141 hands of $500/$1,000 Cap Pot-Limit Omaha but that was enough for the Great Dane to crush the Maryland-resident.

It marked the first time in several weeks that Cates had recorded a significant loss.

Meanwhile Hansen, who lost $1.6 million online last year, is off to a hot start in 2011 with over $700k in profit.

Scott “URnotINdanger2” Palmer, who has been one of the biggest winners in online poker this year, also added to his bankroll last night by raking $233k on PokerStars as urnotindangr.

Palmer took most of his winnings in $200/$400 Cap PLO from recent upstart Also11 on PokerStars.

When you combine Palmer’s winnings from last night to the $929k he’s already earned on Full Tilt he’s the first player to crack $1 million profit in 2011.

Also11 was last night’s biggest loser dropping a total of $307k on PokerStars. Some of the other unfortunate players included refaelamit (-$119k), Bttech86 (-$77k), LooneyGerbil (-$73k) and molswi47 (-$67k).

Keep in mind this Sunday Cates will take on Viktor “Isildur1” Blom in the third edition of PokerStars SuperStar Showdown. PokerListings will have a complete breakdown and results on Monday.
