Hansen Clears $600k in One Week
Gus Hansen was the biggest winner on Full Tilt Poker by a huge margin over the last seven days.
Hansen plowed through 4,124 hands on the site and recorded huge heads-up wins against Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, DrugsOrMe and Arbianight.
By Friday Hansen had won a total of $606,497 in a seven-day span and is up over $2 million in the last four weeks.
It’s been a swingy 2010 for the Great Dane as he charged to a $2 million profit, then donated it all back and more, to hit rock bottom in mid-October at -$3.6 million.
Since then he’s managed to reduce his deficit to -$1.6 million and if the wins keep coming he might be even within the next few weeks.
The next biggest winner this week was David “Raptor” Benefield who won $206k. Always a consistent player, Benefield has grinded his way to $1.8 million this year without much fanfare.
Current durrr Challenge competitor Dan “jungleman12” Cates also had a successful week winning $155k. Surprisingly Cates is relatively new to PLO but has been stacking seasoned opponents in the game all week. He remains the biggest winner in 2010 with $4.2 million in profit.
Meanwhile the poker gods frowned upon Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, who had a disastrous week losing $444,886.
Sahamies is now down a total of $753k this year and if he keeps losing at the current rate he’ll be the biggest loser of 2010 in short order.
Other big losers this week included Van Marcus (-$156k), URnotINdanger2 (-$151k), theASHMAN103 (-$133k).
